Nicor Prime Chime Incompatibility Tech Bulletin

Introduction

The Nicor Prime Chime doorbell is not compatible with the Clare Controls Video Doorbell, and other 16 to 24VAC video doorbells, due to voltage incompatibility. The Prime Chime doorbell only provides 12VDC @6ma to the button at the door. The Clare Video Doorbell, and most doorbell cameras, requires 16 to 24VAC to operate.

The wiring configuration of the Prime Chime prevents use with the ClareVideo Doorbell. The circuit requires rewiring to meet doorbell standards for all 16 to 24VAC doorbell cameras.
