How To
What video encoding does the ClareOne Panel or Control4 system support?
Last Modified 05/07/21
When connecting cameras to the ClareOne panel or a Control4 system, make sure that both sub or tertiary streams are set to H.264 as the ClareOne and Control4 do not support H.265. This can be done via the Configuration tab on either the camera’s web UI or the NVR’s.
Adjusting video encoding for a standalone camera:
- Utilize IP Search Tool to find your camera on the network and notate the IP address.
- Open Internet Explorer and navigate to the IP address for your camera.
- (ex. http://10.100.0.100)
- Log into the camera using camera’s credentials that you created at setup.
- Click on the "Configuration" tab.
- Then on the side menu, click on “Video” tab and then “Video” sub-menu tab.
- On video page, change Stream Type to “Sub Stream” or “Tertiary Stream”.
- Set Video Encoding to H.264 (This should be already set to H.264 by default).
- Press Save to commit changes.
Adjusting video encoding standard for a camera attached to an NVR:
- Utilize IP Search Tool to find your NVR on the network and notate the IP address.
- Open Internet Explorer and navigate to the IP address for your NVR.
- (ex. http://10.100.0.100)
- Log into the NVR using the NVR’s credentials that you created at setup.
- Click on the "Configuration" tab at the top.
- On side menu, click on “Channel” tab then on the “Camera” sub-menu tab.
- On the Camera page, locate the desired camera you wish to configure and click on the “Conf.” button.
- On the Camera’s configuration page, change Stream Type to “Sub Stream”.
- Set Video Encoding to H.264 (This should be already set to H.264 by default).
- Press Save to commit changes.
